  • CoreMarine said the acquisition strengthens its offshore construction, technical services and project delivery capacity as deepwater activity increases.

CoreMarine has acquired Brazilian offshore services company BravOcean, expanding its position in one of the world’s busiest subsea energy markets. CoreMarine reported the acquisition on Sept. 17 as offshore and presalt development activity continues to grow across Brazil.

The transaction gives CoreMarine a stronger local operating base and greater capacity to deliver projects within the country. It also broadens the company’s capabilities in subsea installation support, project management and specialist personnel services for deepwater SURF developments.

Brazil’s expanding offshore market is generating continued demand for the expertise needed to support complex subsea projects. CoreMarine presented the acquisition as a direct response to that demand, particularly across subsea installation and SURF work associated with deepwater developments.

BravOcean provides offshore project management and subsea installation support services for energy projects in Brazil. Those services complement CoreMarine’s international offshore capabilities while providing the combined operation with established knowledge of the Brazilian market.

CoreMarine CEO Ben Fitzgerald said the acquisition builds on a longstanding relationship between CoreMarine and BravOcean. The companies now plan to combine international offshore expertise with BravOcean’s local market knowledge.

That combination is intended to support growing demand across Brazil’s offshore sector. It also positions CoreMarine to undertake offshore and subsea work with a larger base of local project delivery capabilities and specialist personnel services.

The transaction strengthens CoreMarine’s ability to provide offshore and subsea construction services as activity increases in Brazil’s deepwater market. Project delivery and technical services are also central to the capabilities CoreMarine expects to expand through the acquisition.

For CoreMarine, the local presence created by the BravOcean transaction adds practical delivery capacity in Brazil. The acquisition gives the company access to an operating base that can support projects within the country while connecting that work with CoreMarine’s wider offshore experience.

BravOcean’s role in the Brazilian market centers on project management and installation support. Those areas are closely aligned with the requirements of deepwater SURF developments, where subsea construction and specialist technical capabilities form important parts of project execution.

CoreMarine highlighted the Brazilian offshore and presalt development market as an area attracting continued investment. The acquisition places the company closer to that activity through BravOcean’s existing market knowledge and project support capabilities.

The deal also broadens the range of services CoreMarine can deliver locally. These include installation support, offshore project management, technical services and access to specialist personnel for subsea energy developments.

Deepwater activity is a central focus of the transaction. CoreMarine said activity continues to increase in the country’s deepwater market, sustaining demand for companies able to provide subsea construction, installation support and project delivery expertise.

The acquisition links CoreMarine’s international offshore experience with BravOcean’s knowledge of operating in Brazil. Fitzgerald identified that combination as a way to serve rising demand while building on the relationship already established between the two companies.

CoreMarine’s expanded presence will support offshore and subsea construction as well as technical and project management requirements. The company also gains broader local capabilities for supporting SURF developments, an area specifically identified as benefiting from the transaction.

With BravOcean now part of CoreMarine, the company has reinforced its local delivery platform in Brazil’s active subsea market. The acquisition centers on practical operating capacity, specialist expertise and support for offshore projects moving through the country’s expanding deepwater sector.
